Responsibilities:

Supervise the operations of:

• 4 mgd water treatment plant'
• Wellfield operations
• Transmission mains
• Pump stations
• Water distribution system
• SCADA system
• Wastewater collection system
• Wastewater treatment lagoons (aerobic)
• Municipal swimming pool
• Utility billing and collections
• Snow removal at the municipal airport

Requirements:

• Four-year college degree in biology, chemistry or other similar environmental sciences, and three years responsible charge of a public water supply; or
• High school diploma and a minimum of six years of responsible charge of public water system using typical surface water treatment techniques.
• Valid driver's license.
• Grade 2 Nebraska Water Operator's license or the ability to obtain one within six months of employment.
• Wastewater treatment certification upon completion of the new mechanical wastewater treatment facility.
• Pre-employment drug test and background check.

Preference given to candidates with a current Grade 1 or 2 Nebrska Water Operator license, a Grade 6 (backflow) certification and recent surface water treatment experience.

The City of Plainview is seeking a city administrator to work with the mayor and four-member city council.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate, oversee and manage the operations of all city departments.

Requirements:

• Prefer a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in public administration, business administration or related field.
• Experience in municipal management desired to include general knowledge of electrical plants, distribution, water, sewer and zoning.
• Knowledge of personnel management, budgeting, finance and economic development is desired.
